2010 Earthdance Global Festival for Peace

September 18, 2010 is this year’s Earthdance day, when individuals, private gatherings and public events across the globe celebrate and activate peace through creative expression, activism and community-building – all joining in the Prayer for Peace at the same powerful moment!

2010’s focus is Embracing All Traditions – recognizing and honoring the diversity of faiths and cultures that make up our human family.

This year Earthdance will observe this theme during 8 Days of Peace starting on Earthdance day and culminating in a worldwide synchronized Prayer for Peace in the Holy Land, in collaboration with One Peace Jerusalem. The Earthdance Network and Earthdance.TV will present a range of exclusive content related to the theme during the week, including Expressions of Peace – photos, videos and music tracks – submitted by the Earthdance community. Many Earthdance promoters will also be holding events on this day.

Please join in and PARTICIPATE this September…

• as an individual – attend an event if you can, and register to be on the map as a participant in the Prayer for Peace
• as a house party host to gather friends in celebration and activation of peace
• as an event promoter – producing a free or paid public event in your community

See the LOCATIONS page for the growing list of 2010 participants and events.

2010 Event Highlights

Coming Soon

Previous Earthdance Event Themes

2009: Blessing the Children

2009's theme was "Blessing the Children" as events around the world focus on causes that support children both locally and internationally.
"Good parents give their children Roots and Wings." --Jonas Salk
Give them roots to keep them grounded through tough times. Give them wings to soar above everything, explore new worlds and fly farther than we ever did

.

2008: Honoring the Earth (and the Global MA)

The Earth is our Home, our Mother. We are born from her soil and return to her when we die. During this time of accelerated global change and environmental devastation, we are being called to honor our Earth and find new ways to live sustainably on our planet.

2007: Honoring the Water (and the Global H2Om)

The Prayer for Peace MP3 was augmented to include a 7-minute Global Om set at a healing frequency. All events were encouraged to put special emphasis and attention on the sacredness of water. Also, public events that made a profit were encouraged to select charities that supported the health of our planet's waterways.

2006: Honoring the Wisdom of the Elders

All events were encouraged to invite local elders to their events to share their wisdom. Also, public events that made a profit were encouraged to select charities that supported and honored the wisdom of local and/or indigenous elders. The hub Even in Northern California was honored to have the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Arun Ghandi, in attendance.

2004: Drums of Peace

All events were encouraged to follow the Prayer for Peace with a drumming Circle. The Hub Event in Northern California broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the Largest Synchronized Drum Circle in the world. We know that this circle was far larger than recorded as Earthdance drummers all around the world were participating in this momentous event!
